A few weeks ago, Morgan and I took a field trip to the Funk Heritage Museum for a presentation they were doing called Georgia History Timeline. It was really neat, although standing and walking for two hours wasn't really all that great for my pregnant self. Anyway, it was very interesting watching and listening to the characters who were dressed up, in full costume, and acted as though they were that person in history. They were very knowledgable and interesting since I'm sure most of them do this sort of thing professionally. Gavin's class took a field trip to one of the local pumpkin patches, so I thought I would take Ivey along to kill two birds with one stone. Of course, her class and our MOPS group is going to the exact same place all within the next week. I wish we could have gone as a family, but I'm beginning to accept the fact that the more people you have in your family, especially when the children are as spread out as mine are and when one of them is gone every other weekend, it's difficult to find time to take do things as a whole family. This is something that Chris and I will have to be very intentional about, making sure that we plan outings as a family when everyone can be involved. This is something we try to do now, but I'd like for us to do a better job of it in the future. But, anyway... I digress... Ivey and I joined Gavin for his pumpkin patch field trip. He wasn't nearly as excited for us to be there as I thought he would be, he had a terrible attitude and he refused to let the teacher take a picture of him. Great, I love it when my children blatently disobey and misbehave in front of other adults right in front of me. But, anyway, I think the kids had a really good time and next year, we'll definitely be going as a whole family.

Morgan is turning 14 in just a few days. I can't believe my baby is turning fourteen!!!!! Every year his birthday takes me back to when I found out that I was pregnant with him at the tender age of seventeen, a very trying time in the lives of two families, and the reminder of what a blessing he is today and always will be. We've been through a lot the last fourteen years, but God remains faithful. I'm excited to see Morgan continue to grow and will always continue to pray that he will be a man of God, loving the Lord with his whole heart and wanting to lead his future family in a godly manner. He is such a joy to our family and we're excited about another wonderful year! Happy Birthday, Morgan!

Last year we began buying pumpkins at a local store and then letting the kids clean them out to make jack-o-lanterns. The kids love the messiness of cleaning them out and getting to create their own faces for the pumpkins. And, Chris and I love to roast the pumpkin seeds to have them to snack on - yummy!

This past Saturday, Mom and I took Ivey and Gavin to the Auburn game. Going to the AU football game is absolutely one of my favorite things to do... although this time it was bit more difficult with two small children in tow. Being able to participate in the Auburn games is fun for me because I didn't have that sort of college experience at a small college, living at home and raising a child - so now I get to experience it as an adult and it's FUN! And, since my Dad, Mom and sister all graduated from Auburn, I feel like I'm part of the Auburn family too. Our family attended games when I was a kid, we shopped and tailgated with my grandparents and watched my sister play in the marching band. I love the experience and traditions of an Auburn football game: Tiger Walk, Toomer's Corner, walking around campus, shopping at the bookstores, tailgating (when we have the chance), watching the band and the cheerleaders and cheering on the Auburn Tigers! WAR EAGLE!

We took a trip to the beach this year with a few friends from church. It's so nice to get away for a few days, play in the waves, eat some yummy seafood and just be together as family. The four days that we were gone flew by, but everyone had a great time and it was nice to be together. And, yep, that's right - all the mommies of this group are expecting!

It's been forever... I know! We've been just a bit busy around here plus I couldn't figure out how to load the pictures from my new camera. So, here's a bit about what's going on...

Ivey started Kindergarten at The King's Academy. She LOVES it! End of story. Homeschooling has definitely been a big adjustment for us all, but it's going well for everyone! We took a field trip to the fire station with Ivey's class and it was actually a lot of fun! Because TKA is technically considered homeschooling, we have to take field trips on non-school days. It was neat to see all the other moms (and a few dads) bring their little ones to the fire house. Ivey also turned 6 in September. I can't believe my baby girl is getting so big! She's such a joy and such a huge help to Mommy!
